Hold On To The Vision by Kevin Chalfant

Mike’s Daughter: So “Broken” Matt, do you think my father has what it takes to beat The Question Mark?

“Broken” Matt Hardy: Yeeeessss. Although your father Meek Check has his mortal limitations, he does indeed possess the physical skills to combat ‘The Mark of Question’.

Mike Check: Well feller, maybe I should fight this feller right now?

“Broken” Matt Hardy: That would be foolish Meek Check, this path of training is not just for your physical being, but also to strengthen your intellectual and spiritual mind.

Mike’s daughter: “Intellectual”, huh? Then Dad’s got no chance.

“Broken” Matt Hardy: Nonsense, Daughter of Meek Check. His intellectual and spiritual journey is yet to be tapped.

Mike Check: Well, tap me in feller. What do you need ole Mike to do?

“Broken” Matt Hardy: DELIGHTFUL! Well first you must break a wooden board of Mongrovian oak.

Mike’s daughter: Riiiight? You mean the oak that’s supposed to be 10 times stronger than ordinary oak?

“Broken” Matt Hardy: Precisely.

Mike Check: Well, it’s not like I haven’t done it before there feller. Sounds like a cinch.

“Broken” Matt Hardy: Not quite. In order to break this board, you must punch it from one inch away.

Mike Check: Darn it. I’ve never been able to do that feller.

“Broken” Matt Hardy: Remember Meek Check, it is all mind over matter. If you fear the board, the board will break you. (*Matt picks up the board and holds it in front of Mike*). Now DELETE it, post haste!

Mike Check: (*Mike goes for a one-inch punch*) Ooowwwww! Gawd dang it! I think I broke my darn hand! *Broken Matt Hardy uses his magic to heal Mike hand* How did you do that there feller?

“Broken” Matt Hardy: I am MAGIC! Now Meek Check, try again!

Mike Check: *repeatedly punches the board but fails* I can’t do it!

“Broken” Matt Hardy: To overcome this challenge you must clear your mind of all thoughts, you must enter your mind into a “place of happiness”.

Mike’s daughter: Oh “a happy place” like in “Happy Gilmore”?

“Broken” Matt Hardy: That film was absolutely WONDERFUL, YEEEEEESSSS!

(*Mike goes to his “Happy Place”*)

“Broken” Matt Hardy: Now, Meek Check. How do you feel?

Mike Check: Yes. The mental image of having a foursome with a young filly, an old filly and a midget makes me feel I can focus on anything!

Mike’s daughter: A Midget???

*Mike Check successfully breaks the Mongrovian Oak with a one inch punch*.

“Broken” Matt Hardy: WONDERFUL! YEEESSSSS! Remember: Just “Hold On To The Vision” and you will succeed. (*to Mike’s Daughter*) What do you think Daughter of Meek?

Mike’s daughter (*still perplexed*): A Midget???
