Heads Up, Ke-mo sah-bees
A filthy listener has informed me that one of my old radio program episodes has been bootlegged onto the internet supercomputer.
From 1977, here’s an eventful episode of the Bob & Weave radio program on Ithaca, New York’s own WTKO — “The Knockout.”
I happened to take a listen, and in this particular episode, my broadcast partner, Cassius Weave, invents the rejoinder, “Well, it’d be a lot cooler if you did,” which would be used in the movie Dazed and Confused twenty years later.
I don’t exactly know how the catchphrase migrated all the way to Texas in the late ’70s. Mayhaps I mentioned it once or twice when I was working the El Paso market.
Until next time, keep your head below water or else you’ll be strafed.
